Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Ada was raised by folk-musician parents steeped in the traditional Scottish music scene. From a young age, Ada started playing the folk harp and was then classically trained on piano. After discovering her love of singing, Ada developed an interest in jazz and soul, studying contemporary and popular music at Newcastle University where that interest grew and merged with her skills in traditional music. Now based in Manchester, Ada uses her wide breadth of experience across different genres and instruments to collaborate and perform with projects such as The Untold Orchestra, singer-songwriter Rory Butler, neo-classical composer Benjamin Fitzgerald, neo-soul RnB project Lovescene as well as fronting her own soul-pop band LYRAS and performing in popular venues across Manchester.
